Our next festival was at Bugsworth Basin so from Middlewich it was back up the Trent and Mersey to join the Macclesfield Canal at Kidsgrove then up to Marple.

Barry and Dickie let loose!
This is a rare post by Barry ... Once I'd finally given up hope that I was going to make it to France with Sandra, Kerry and Tony it was time to consider other options. One of them was to attend the Middlewich Folk and Boat Festival as we were in the area. However the … Continue reading Barry and Dickie let loose!
Making the most of Middlewich FAB Festival
There's something magical about the Middlewich Folk and Boat Festival that impels us to return each year. Having not booked for 2016 as we'd planned to be on the Leeds Liverpool Canal, we were relieved to sneak in on a late cancellation. After another long journey, this time from Liverpool, we arrived late afternoon on … Continue reading Making the most of Middlewich FAB Festival
A stroll around Etruria, and a weekend trading at Westport Lake

The past four days have been enriching in many ways. Not financially, we've had a steady trading weekend, nothing extraordinary. Convivially though … Continue reading Meeting many people and trading at Middlewich
Our first boating festival of 2015 – Middlewich

Barry and I have kept the cold at bay kitted out in waterproofs, hats, gloves and sturdy … Continue reading Our first boating festival of 2015 – Middlewich
Two weeks to go for The Home Brew Boat’s first trading event of 2015
We're really looking forward to trading at canal-related festivals again, the buzz of being a part of a like-minded community is quite a thrill! Barry's been doing a bit of online and towpath trading too recently which is fabulous - the bank manager will be happy too ... This evening we're catching up with Helen … Continue reading Two weeks to go for The Home Brew Boat’s first trading event of 2015
