Following Part 1 and Part 2, this post covers our departure from the Chester to the Nantwich area in late February. We were making our way slowly towards our booking into the Liverpool Docks on the 11th of April.
We managed a visit to The Weaver Navigation via the Anderton Boat Lift. Our time on the Weaver included a cruise to the lower end of the navigation at Weston Point. Here the river meets the Manchester Ship Canal near Runcorn, a section we’d not visited before. It’s all a bit industrial with the giant Inovyn/Ineos Chemical Works alongside and a generally unloved canal area. Photographically though, it’s pretty interesting.
